Too many adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) go without oral health care. Please help us reach our goal of giving 50 adults who experience disabilities living in our local communities "Something To Smile About"!

Each $50 donation will provide 1 adult with a critical oral health screening & prevention visit. We bring oral health screening & prevention services to adults in their homes, day programs, or other community settings.

"Dental care now represents the number one health care issue among people with neurodevelopmental disorders."
-Dr. Steve Perlman, Global Clinical Director, U.S. Special Olympics

WHY AN ORAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN?

  • To improve the health & wellness and overall quality of life of individuals with I/DD.
  • People with I/DD are at much greater risk of disease & illness due to medical complexities, diagnosis, limited specialty training for dental professionals, & lack of funding to provide treatment, & lack of accessible medical equipment.

"You cannot be healthy without oral health…there are profound & consequential disparities in the oral health of our citizens. Indeed, what amounts to a silent epidemic of dental and oral diseases is affecting (people with developmental disabilities)."
-US Surgeon General's Report

"People with developmental disabilities face increased oral health problems because of a host of physical, cognitive & financial challenges."
-Journal of American Dental Association

OUR GOAL:

We believe all individuals who experience a disability should have access to quality oral health prevention services, which is why, with generous donations from folks like YOU, we would like to bring services to at least 50 new individuals with disabilities! Community Crossroads has been committed to integrating oral health into the overall mission of our agency. Our program focuses on delivering education, prevention, and quality oral health services to individuals throughout our region.

BUT, we need YOUR HELP to expand and serve more adults!
Please SHARE A SMILE this holiday season!
